October sale of oil and gas rights more than double last year

The October oil and gas rights public offering lined the provinces coffers to the tune of $5.4 million.

The public offering of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights was held this past Tuesday and raised $5.4 million for the province which is more than double the same time last year.

The current total for the 2022-23 fiscal year now rings in at $34,188,370.54 in terms of revenue for the province.

The Estevan area saw the most interest, bringing at more than $4.3 million brining in the lions share of the revenue for 49 leases totalling 4,125.495 hectares.

The October sale is the fourth of six scheduled for this fiscal year. The next sale on December 6 will feature 133 leases.
