One dead after shooting at Port Arthur apartment complex

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Port Arthur Police are looking for a 15-year-old after a Saturday shooting at an area apartment complex claimed the life of a 26-year-old man.

The deadly shooting happened at the Avery Trace Apartments. Police responded to the 4100 block of FM 365 after receiving a call about a shooting shortly after 9 a.m.

When officers got to the scene, they found a victim who had been shot. That victim was later identified as Quarderious Jordan, a Port Arthur resident, according to a Port Arthur Police Department release. 

Justice of the Peace Marc DeRouen pronounced Jordan dead at the scene.

Police identified a 15-year-old boy as a suspect in the murder. He is not in custody but has an active warrant out for his arrest, according to the release.

The juvenile suspect is not in custody, but has an active warrant for his arrest.

On 9/10/22 at approximately 9:05am, Officers responded to 4160 FM 365 at Avery Trace Apartments in reference to shooting.  When Officers arrived, they located a single gunshot victim.  The victim was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries by Judge DeRouen.  Detectives were able to gather information that led to the identity of the shooter.  The suspect was identified as a 15-year-old male black. The victim was identified as Quarderious Jordan, a Port Arthur resident.  This case is under investigation by the Port Arthur Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
