Real estate companies are putting people in place to prepare for growth across a range of sectors, from apartments to industrial to retail to land development and more. Here is a roundup of recent hires and promotions in the region.

Parkside Capital, a Houston-based private equity real estate investment company focused on land, has promoted Brett Walker to president as the company prepares to launch its fourth land fund. Lauren Ferrante, Parkside’s leader of Investor Relations, has been promoted to director of operations. Founder John S. Moody Sr. will continue in his role as CEO. The 17-year-old company has overseen $280 million in land investments, including legacy projects West Ten Business Park and Mason Creek Corporate in west Houston.

Pagewood, a Houston-based real estate company founded by Paul Coonrod, announced new hires. Jake Roland joins as senior vice president focused on multifamily and residential real estate development for Pagewood. He previously served as senior director of finance at Greystar Real Estate Partners in Houston. Preston Luster, who has overseen the construction of $300 million in projects totaling over 20 million square feet during his career, has been named senior construction manager. Nick Spearman, who joins the company from Belvoir Real Estate Group, is vice president and will focus on sourcing industrial acquisitions and developments as well as adaptive reuse projects. Pagewood is developing the Great 290 Distribution Center in Waller and The Quad creative offices in west Houston.

Vince Strake has joined Partners, a Houston-based commercial real estate firm, as senior vice president of office project leasing in the Houston office. Strake comes to Partners from Cushman & Wakefield and Colvill, where he was responsible for leasing and marketing a 3.17 million-square-foot portfolio of prime Houston office properties.

Christopher O’Neill has joined the NRP Group, a Cleveland-based developer, builder and manager of multifamily housing, as executive vice president of development in Texas. Based in Houston, O’Neill will oversee the expansion of the development pipeline in Texas and entry to new western markets such as Arizona, Nevada and Colorado, while supervising project management for market-rate communities. O’Neill was previously managing director at Hines where he spearheaded the company’s suburban multifamily efforts throughout Texas, Colorado and Arizona.

Gage Raba has been promoted to director of retail development for Hunington, a full-service commercial real estate company in Houston. Raba will lead and coordinate the company’s retail development projects.

CBRE announced several Houston promotions. Dennis Drake was named senior vice president with CBRE Hotels. Brian Ashby has been promoted to first vice president with CBRE Retail Advisory & Transaction Services. Sydney Dixon was named vice president with CBRE Retail Advisory & Transaction Services.

Fogelman Properties, a privately-owned multifamily investment and property management company based in Memphis, has appointed Thomas Henry as vice president of acquisitions. Based in Dallas, Henry will focus on investment opportunities in major Texas markets.

U.S. Bank has hired Ryan Cain on its Commercial Real Estate team in Houston. As vice president and relationship manager, Cain will serve clients in the Houston, Austin and San Antonio markets.

Trustmark has promoted Andrea Fowler to vice president in Houston, where she is a community lending specialist.

Fortune 50 company coming to Missouri City

Chicago-based Logistics Property Co. has started construction on the fourth industrial building within its 98-acre CityPark Logistics Center in Missouri City after securing a lease from an undisclosed Fortune 50 tenant. The 151,200-square-foot build-to-suit warehouse will be completed in mid 2023.

CityPark Logistics Center contains three recently completed buildings totaling 454,000 square feet at the northwest corner of Beltway 8 and U.S. 90. 

“We are pleased to kick off a long-term relationship with an industry leader within this strategic location,” said Mark Redlingshafer, vice president and senior development manager, South Region, at Logistics Property Co. 

With the addition of the build-to-suit, City Park consists of five tenants and is approximately 75 percent leased, according to Logistics Property. 

Next, the company expects to begin construction on a speculative, 215,000-square-foot building at CityPark in 2023. The building is being marketed for lease. The park’s final phase, with frontage along Beltway 8, will accommodate 600,000 square feet and is being marketed as a build-to-suit.

Beau Kaleel and Brooke Forrest with Cushman & Wakefield are the leasing agents for the development.
