Plans for electric charging ports at Southampton petrol station

[ad_1]

ELECTRIC vehicle charging ports could be installed at a Southampton petrol station should plans be approved by civic chiefs.

Plans have been submitted to Southampton City Council seeking permission to install an electric vehicle charging zone at Northam Service Station on Northam Road.

The plans have been submitted by Motor Fuel Group, and hope to see the installation of a charging zone.

Alongside the charging area are plans for a canopy, sub-station enclosure and other works on the forecourt.

The plans propose four electric vehicle charging points at the existing garage.

The applicant said that the proposal should be “considered positively in light of the national context and demand for the necessary infrastructure to support electric vehicle used across the UK”.

A decision is yet to be made on the plans.
