PM to Flag Off 1st Passenger Train Connecting Kendrapada District Bhubaneswar, ET Infra


BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first passenger train on Haridaspur-Paradip rail line on Tuesday during his Odisha visit. With this, Kendrapada district will get a passenger train for the first time.

The Haridaspur-Paradip railway line was commissioned in 2020. In 2022, BJD had urged the railways to start passenger train service on the new line.

Modi will also flag off a new train between Puri and Anand Vihar (New Delhi) via Kendujhargarh railway station, Paradip-Kendujhargarh passenger train and a container train from Jajpur to Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.

The prime minister will inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stones of multiple development projects worth over Rs 19,600 crore at Chandikhole in Jajpur district.

The projects are related to sectors including oil and gas, railways, road transport and highways and atomic energy.

Indian Oil Corporation’s monoethylene glycol project in Paradip refinery will also be inaugurated by Modi.

This project will help in reducing India’s import dependency. He will inaugurate the 344km Paradip-Haldia product pipeline and 0.6 MMTPA LPG import facility in Paradip.
