Railways Beefs Up Security Atvulnerable Stations Under Ecr | Patna News

Patna: Railways has beefed up security at vulnerable stations under Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) following restoration of long distance mail and express passenger trains. Five additional companies of the railway protection special force (RPSF) have reached the division to safeguard railway property.
The Danapur division had incurred a huge loss as agitators and protestors had set at least 50 LHB coaches and half a dozen locomotives on fire and damaged railway properties during the protests against Centre’s Agnipath scheme last week.
According to RPF senior commandant, Danapur, Prakash Panda, railways has deployed additional security forces at Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Fatuha, Bakhtiarpur, Nawada, Kiul and Lakhisarai stations where the agitators had caused maximum damage. According to RPF senior commandant, railways has registered 37 cases so far against the agitators, involved in the incidents of violence, arson and disruption of rail traffic movements last week. Besides, it has taken 42 people into custody so far.
Keeping in view huge rush of passengers at the Patna junction and other major stations in the Danapur division, RPF personnel, including women, have been deployed to control the crowd.
