NEW DELHI: The railways has introduced the first reclining seats in Tejas trains on the lines of Vande Bharat trains. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted the photo of reclining seats on Saturday which went viral within hours.
Tejas Express is equipped with modern amenities like automatic sliding doors and sealed vestibule, automatic smoke and heat detection with alarm, onboard infotainment, ergonomic seats, GPS based passenger information system and modular toilets. “The reclining seats will be an added facility for passengers,” an official said.
PM Modi had flagged-off the Tejas Express between Madurai and Chennai Egmore in March 2019 through video conferencing from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.
