Keeping in view the anticipated huge rush of passengers during Diwali and Chhath Puja, railways has decided to run three pairs of festival special trains on the Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar and Danapur-Anand Vihar routes next month.
Railways is running 12 pairs of Durga Puja special trains under the East Central Railway (ECR).
According to ECR chief public relations officer Birendra Kumar, Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar AC Express special (05283/ 05284) will run twice a week from November 11 to 18, leaving Muzaffarpur every Wednesday and Saturday at 6 pm and reaching Anand Vihar at 11 am the next day.
On its return, it will leave Anand Vihar every Thursday and Sunday at 1.25 pm and reach Muzaffarpur next day at 7 am via Danapur-Patliputra Junction-Hajipur route, he said.Similarly, another biweekly special Muzaffarpur-Anand Vihar AC Express (05273/05274) will run from November 22 to December 9, leaving Muzaffarpur every Wednesday and Saturday at 6 pm and reaching Anand Vihar the next day at 11am. It will leave Anand Vihar every Thursday and Sunday at 1.35 pm and reach Muzaffarpur the next day at 7 am via Danapur- Patliputra Junction-Hajipur route, he said.
The Danapur-Anand Vihar weekly superfast special (03257/03258) will leave Danapur every Sunday from November 26 to December 10 at 7.30 am and reach Anand Vihar Monday night at 12.30 am. On its return, it will leave Anand Vihar every Monday at 5 am and reach Danapur the same day at 8.45 pm, he added.
Meanwhile, railways has granted a two-minute temporary stoppage of Patna-Secunderabad special (03253), Secunderabad-Patna special (07256) and Hyderabad-Patna special (07255) at Parasnath station under Dhanbad division to facilitate local people to travel conveniently during the festive season, Kumar said.
