Retailers are big fans of one particular social media platform.
Retail is the number one advertiser by category on Facebook, according to an analysis by advertising intelligence and sales enablement platform MediaRadar. Within the category, the top advertisers include Amazon, supermarkets, quick-serve restaurants and big-box stores.
The retail category accounted for 17% of the ads on Facebook in January and February, followed by a category called “other,” which includes beauty, travel, auto and alcohol.
According to the analysis, year-over-year (January and February) 2020 vs. 2021, 59% of Facebook advertisers remained identical. Retail and entertainment advertisers have a 64% retention rate year-over-year.
