Road closures coming on Huronia, Patterson roads in Barrie

Huronia Road will be closed between Big Bay Point and Truman from Monday, Aug. 22 until Monday, Sept. 12

A stretch of Huronia Road will be closed starting this week to allow for maintenance.

Mar-King Construction Company and its subcontractors will require a full closure of Huronia Road between Big Bay Point and Truman roads from Monday, Aug. 22 to Monday, Sept. 12 as part of Big Bay Point Road transportation improvements.

Businesses located in the affected area will still have access, as will emergency services, according to the City of Barrie.

Detour route: Huronia Road – Big Bay Point Road – Welham Road – Hamilton Road – Truman Road – Huronia Road. 

Meanwhile, Leading Edge Earthworks and its sub-contractors require a partial lane closure on Mapleview Drive West between Royal Jubilee and approximately 300 metres past Prince William Way, tentatively from 7 a.m. on Aug. 22 until 7 p.m. on Aug. 26. The closure is required to perform works related to asphalt roadway construction. The roadway will be open to traffic and emergency vehicles.

There will also be street closure in effect on Patterson Road from 7 a.m. on Sept. 12 until 7 p.m. on Sept. 23.

Patterson Road will be closed between Philips and Alva streets to allow Arnott Construction and its subcontractors to complete work as part of a new townhouse development.

Access for businesses and emergency services will be maintained.

Detour routes: 

Patterson Road – Ardagh Road – Ferndale Drive North – Tiffin Street – Patterson Road

Patterson Road – Ardagh Road – Essa Road – Anne Street South – Tiffin Street – Patterson Road.

Arnott Construction also requires a full road closure on Phillips Street between Patterson Road and Crawford Street, adjacent to 203 Phillips St., tentatively from 7 a.m. on Aug. 29 until 7 p.m. on Sept. 9 in relation to the townhouse project.
