LETTER FROM THE DEAN
Our Students and Faculty Excel,
Inside and Outside the Classroom

Brian Wilhite

The School of Science, Technology and Mathematics (STM) at Elmhurst is home to more than 800 undergraduate and graduate students in six departments: Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science and Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. Graduates of the School have taken a variety of paths after graduation, from careers in the health sciences (such as medicine, dentistry and pharmacy) to graduate school to careers in industry.

The School is also home to more than 40 excellent full-time faculty who, like their students, excel both in and out of the classroom.

The School counts 13 winners of the prestigious President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching among its ranks. Faculty routinely publish in nationally known journals, including Science and Nature. STM faculty also have had leadership roles in securing five major external grants at the University, most of which include funding to create additional research and learning opportunities for students.

Please reach out to me or one of my colleagues if you’d like to discuss STM at Elmhurst.

Sincerely,

Brian Wilhite, Dean of the School of Science, Technology and Mathematics
