As a mark of tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away last Thursday, fashion retailers Selfridges and Liberty closed stores for a day.
While Selfridges closed early on Thursday and all through Friday, it opened during the weekend.
Similarly, another fashion retailer Liberty too shut down its famous London flagship.
These came in the wake of fashion giants like Marks & Spencer (M&S) and Harrods paying tribute to the Queen.
M&S tweeted: “We’re deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. She’s led for over 70 years with quiet determination and selfless devotion.”
Meanwhile, Burberry also, reportedly, announced that its fashion show will no longer happen at London Fashion Week (LFW) as a mark of respect to Queen. However, the British Fashion Council has said that LFW will still go ahead though it will be a pared down show.
