Services of sanitation workers, health staffers, cops are precious: Indrakaran

Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy has described as ‘matchless’ the services of sanitation workers, health department’s staffers and policemen.

He was speaking after distributing groceries sponsored by IKR foundation to 500 workers here on Saturday.

Speaking after distributing groceries to 500 workers, Indrakaran stated that the workers, employees of the medical and health department and policemen were risking their lives to discharge their duties. They were playing a vital role in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. The groceries were sponsored by the IKR Foundation, an NGO.

Municipal chairperson Gandrath Eshwar, Collector Mohd Musharraf Faruqui Ali, DCCB chairman Ramkishan Reddy, Mandal Parishad President Rameshwar Reddy, councilors, Indrakaran Reddy’s siblings Surender Reddy and Muralidhar Reddy and TRS party’s youth wing leader Allola Gowtham Reddy were present.

Later, the minister instructed the officials concerned to complete the procurement of paddy by June 5. He convened a review meeting over the procurement in the Collectorate. He said that a total 1.32 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased so far as against the target of 1.54 lakh metric tonnes in the district. He informed that Rs 106.29 crore was paid to 12,283 paddy farmers. Indrakaran told the authorities concerned to take special measures to implement the national food security Act, 2013. He handed over subsidized red gram seeds to eligible farmers at a programme held in Nirmal. He asked the officials of agriculture to focus on enhancing the area of cultivation of lentils. He stated that 135 quintals of seeds were given to the growers, covering 3,375 acres.

District Farmers Coordination Committee president Venkatram Reddy and in-charge SP Praveen Kumar, additional collector Hemath Borkade, RDO Ramesh Rathod and many others were present.
