Retail investors, who did well for the past two years, have taken a serious beating amid the current economic scenario. ET Prime looks at the top 20 stocks held by retail and finds that barring three, their average return is down 11% for the last year. Against this, MFs are down by only 3%. Are retail investors still confident?
Over the past year, Yes Bank is up 26% at INR16. Retail investors have finally made a decent return on the stock at a time when the Nifty 50 is flat. They hold a 25% share in the bank. This is especially satisfying for them as they had been confident about the stock – more than ITC.
