TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -Two years and 50 million dollars later, renovations are nearly finished at Stormont Vail Events Center.

Its first big event takes the stage this Sunday.

“We will have Baby Shark Live Sunday at 2 P.M. and it’s going to be hosted in Landon Arena and it’s going to be full of singing and dancing with songs that feature colors and fruits and veggies and it’s going to be so much fun and they are encouraging photos,” said Allison Geist, marketing coordinator.

Those who attend will get to check out some changes.

“We have replaced every single seat in Landon arena, they are wider and they are a different color and they are very eye-catching and we also have new digital arena boards and we also have the Prairie Band party deck and bar and have premium seating options with cocktail service right in front of that,” she said.

Geist says the expansion couldn’t come at a better time, considering another big event in July.

“So Hank Williams Jr. will be coming and the tickets are selling very well and we are excited to have this show and clearly so is Topeka. Tickets are selling really well for that and we would not be surprised if we see a sell-out for that show,” Geist said.

A heads up– the event center will only allow clear plastic totes, small clutches or one diaper bag, no big purses or totes are allowed.
