Tourism NI has launched its 2022/23 Tourism Enterprise Development Programme with the first event focused on people in the industry and challenges with the recruitment and retention of staff. The TED programme for the tourism and hospitality industry provides tailored support and is delivered both virtually and in person.
Latest perceptions research into employment in tourism and hospitality was delivered by Ronan Jennings of BBDO Dublin. Jill O’Reilly from O’Reilly People Management provided tips on conducting a Business Health Check for staff and Roisin McKee gave an update on the support available through the Hospitality and Tourism Skills network.
Laura Millar from the Galgorm Collection, Ciaran O’Neill of Bishop’s Gate Hotel and Niall McKenna, James Street South and Waterman House, also joined the event for a panel discussion on doing things differently to attract & retain staff and make hospitality and tourism a better career choice.
The next event in the Tourism Enterprise Development Programme is entitled ‘Leaner & Greener’ and will be held on 22nd November in Titanic Belfast. It will look at how to drive cost saving initiatives for businesses and will feature contributions from Invest NI, Consumer Council, Business in the Community and Keep NI Beautiful. Further events are scheduled from January focusing on digital, marketing and operational effectiveness.
