Waves continue to batter the remains of Cement Ship on Thursday as Watsonville farmer Terry Sardinas scours Rio Del Mar State Beach for micro plastics to clean some of the mess deposited by recent storms. Sardinas and her Bird Valley Organics partners Manny Alvarez and Andres Amezquita came to the beach to volunteer their time to help the environment. They said the most common items they found and collected were plastic straws.
