Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can often make us feel disconnected from ourselves. With identity confusion and emotional numbness, we are often filled with guilt and shame. “This condition, resulting from prolonged and repeated trauma, can make it challenging for individuals to connect with their emotions, establish a clear sense of self, and maintain healthy relationships. Treatment, typically involving therapy, is crucial for those with CPTSD to reconnect with themselves, manage emotions, and develop healthier coping strategies,” wrote Therapist Maythal Eshaghian.
