Cortalim MLA Anton Vas on Saturday expressed his desire to spend the MLA funds he had recently received to develop infrastructure for education and sports for the betterment of students in Cortalim constituency.

“I was the chief guest at the sports event of Vidya Vihar High School (VVHS) and I got to see some really excellent performances by students. As I was discussing with the manager and the headmistress, I realised that the school has been achieving 100 percent results since 2013 and I want to congratulate them on this achievement,” said Vas.

“The government has recently released MLA funds to us and I want to use it to develop infrastructure for education and sports for the betterment of the students in Cortalim constituency. I will also try and help schools by giving them assistance through ZP funds.”

The MLA said he had received a letter from VVHS requesting an additional school bus.

“I have already taken steps to ensure that an additional school bus is provided to the school. The school is facing shortfall of buses as the school has over 800 students and I have even raised the issue of school buses in the assembly. I have already written to the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited Chairman and MLA Ullhas Tuenkar.”
