Workshop and lecture “Climate change, the consequences for the ports of Curaçao”

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) recently launched a study to reach at a strategy to deal with the consequences of climate change for the ports of Curaçao.  

 

 

In this connection, CPA has invited approximately 40 stakeholders from the port of Curaçao for two half-mornings on Wednesday and Thursday 9 and 10 November in the meeting room in Renaissance, for a workshop in which they could contribute to an evaluation of the situation in the ports of Curaçao. This workshop was provided by experts from EcoVision, Climate Adaptation Services and the Meteorological Service of Curaçao.  

 

On Thursday, November 10, Felix van Veldhoven and Timo Kelder of the Dutch foundation Climate Adaptation Services (CAS) gave a lecture about this research in the auditorium of the University of Curaçao and Pédzi Girigori of the Meteorological Service Curaçao talked about the Curaçao Climate Change Platform (CCCP) that was founded this year and the activities that this platform organizes.
