WOU Announces Updated Fan Policy For Indoor Athletic Events Starting Nov. 15

[ad_1]

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Western Oregon University has updated safety measures which will require all spectators at indoor sporting events in NPE to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test result to gain entry to the event.

The new policy will provide a safer environment for all visitors to the WOU campus, including student-athletes, coaches, staff and spectators. This updated policy will go into effect beginning November 15, 2021.

Proof of Vaccination will be required for all athletic-event spectators ages 12 and older. Fans will be required to provide proof of vaccination, including a CDC-issued Vaccination Record Card (or photo of the card) to enter events. Fans who are ages 12 and older and cannot provide proof of vaccination may present proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours.

Spectators ages 11 and under will not need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test or show proof of vaccination.

Masks will be required at all events for fans ages of 5 and up, regardless of vaccination status. The face coverings must cover their nose and mouth while inside the venue. Masks may be adjusted while actively eating or drinking.

The proof of vaccination policy is only for indoor athletic events held in New PE Gym. Outdoor athletic events on campus require spectators to mask while in the facility.

The policy will continue to be evaluated throughout the year as federal, state and local guidelines are revised. Additional information on the WOU COVID-19 Page can be found here.

Thank you for your continued support of WOU Athletics. We are doing our best to keep our students, staff and community safe and healthy.
