Ports of Valencia and Seville strengthen their collaboration

[ad_1]

The Ports of Valencia and Seville have committed to strengthening their collaboration in areas such as decarbonisation and connectivity.

Rafael Carmona, President of the Port Authority of Saville (PAS), recently visited the Port of Valencia and held a meeting with Aurelio Martínez, President of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV).

Ángel Pulido and Manuel González, General Manager and Head of Business Development at PAS, as well as Francesc Sánchez and Manuel Guerra, General Manager and Deputy President of PAV, were also in attendance.

Carmona highlighted the productive relationship both organisations have and wished to continue to collaborate on projects to combat climate change, improve connectivity, and establish synergies that will benefit each of their operations and the competitiveness of their port communities.

Both parties are also making progress on joint initiatives based on digitalisation, such as the I RAIL project. This aims to improve the interoperability of the rail system in ports through the exchange of information in a digital and harmonised way.

After the meeting, the representatives of the PAS toured the facilities of the Port of Valencia, including the South Counterdike, the North Extension and the CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal.

Terminals at the Port of Valencia recently resumed ordinary activity and removed the congestion-easing measures implemented during the trucking strike in Spain.

On 26 March, the three terminals at the port announced they will only admit trucks to pick up empty units bound for depots and trucks for laden import container retrieval.

The facilities operated by APM Terminals (APMT), COSCO, and MSC also ceased acceptance of laden export containers with the exception of full reefer exports and boxes bound for the Canary Islands.
