Merseyside, England – Caldeira, the UK’s leading dec pillow company, has acquired and developed a new headquarters on the Knowsley Industrial Park in Merseyside, in a £3m investment project.
The 85,000 sq. ft. factory on a three-acre site, at 29 Lees Road, will contain manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, office and showroom facilities. It replaces the company’s former rented premises.
Caldeira also manufacturers at its facility in Hangzhou, China, producing goods that can be sold FOB Shanghai to the U.S. and UK markets. Its U.S. office/showroom in New York is located at 230 Fifth Ave.
The investment project has seen Caldeira already commit to installing over 1,000 solar panels on its roof, which will have the capacity to generate around half a megawatt (500KW) of renewable solar energy. The company is currently undertaking a feasibility study and is looking into the possibility of doubling its solar generation capacity to a megawatt.
The company’s full refurbishment of the property include adaptations to the factory that will enable Caldeira to increase production to over a million cushions per year.
“Our new headquarters will provide a permanent home for the company and will give Caldeira the capacity to grow and diversify our business further,” said managing director Tony Caldeira.
