CM thanks PM for redevelopment of 33 railway stations in the state, ET Infra

BHOPAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday laid the foundation for redevelopment of 33 railway stations in Madhya Pradesh along with a total of 554 railway stations across the country and 1500 road over bridges/underpasses under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of Rs 41,000 crore. Chief minister Mohan Yadav who was in Sehore took part in the programme through video conferencing.

Chief minister Yadav thanked Prime Minister Modi for the gift of redevelopment of more than 33 railway stations in the state. He said that constructions worth Rs 77,000 crore is underway in the state, railway facilities are continuously expanding in the state, and we will get world class railway stations and rail facilities with new technology and new systems under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Yadav participated in the Jan Aabhar Yatra of Sehore district. Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav also addressed the national programme through video conferencing.

Madhya Pradesh, which is located in the heart of the country has immense potential for development of railway infrastructure. Not only two major railway lines of the country are operational here, but the work of laying the railway line via Sehore to Ramganj Mandi and Budhni is also being accelerated.

Railway infrastructure development will be completed fast, which will further speed up development of the state. Bhopal-Sehore-Raisen, Bhopal-Vidisha, Ujjain-Indore and Ujjain-Dewas will be developed as twin cities, he said.

Chief minister Yadav said that along with a rise in industry and employment, many schemes are being run for the development of women, youth and weaker sections. There will be no shortage of funds for any scheme. He approved the proposals presented by Sehore Municipality.

He said that the development of Bhopal and Sehore will be done in a coordinated manner based on the twin city model. A plan for overall development of means of transport, residential projects and employment opportunities will be implemented by connecting both the cities. Ujjain-Indore, Ujjain-Dewas, Bhopal-Vidisha, Bhopal-Sehore-Raisen districts will be developed as twin cities by 2047.
