Akasa Air to launch non-stop daily flights to Kolkata from May 18

Akasa Air will launch direct daily flights to Kolkata from May 18, 2023, making it the 17th destination on its network.

With this launch, Akasa Air will connect Kolkata to Bengaluru and Guwahati with daily non-stop flights. Kolkata will be Akasa Air’s second destination in West Bengal, after flights connecting Bagdogra to Bengaluru went on sale earlier this month.

According to DGCA’s analysis, country’s largest carrier IndiGo’s continued to lead the tally with 54.6 per cent market share. Next in is Air India with 7.4 per cent market share with 11.55 lakh passengers carried in January. Soon to be merged with Air India, another full-service carrier grabbed the third spot 8.8 per cent market share.
