bandhan bank: After Leh, Bandhan Bank opens its doors in Kargil with a new branch

Kolkata-based Bandhan Bank opened its branch in Kargil region of Union Territory (UT), Ladakh, marking its presence in 35 of the 36 states and UTs of India, the bank announced on Monday. Earlier this year in August, the bank had started a branch in Leh.

The Kargil branch, inaugurated by LAHDC’s Executive Councillor, Kacho Mohammed Feroz, is situated at Fatima Chowk in the Leh region, it informed.

On its eighth foundation day celebrated in August, Bandhan Bank also opened another branch in Srinagar, J&K.

“Kargil has a unique place in the hearts of Indians. While the Bank has been expanding its network, this branch in Kargil is a special one for all of us at Bandhan Bank,” said Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, Founder, MD and CEO, Bandhan Bank.

The bank also boasts to have a strong network across the country with more than 6,200 banking outlets and 3.2 crore customers.

“The Bank is committed to fulfilling the diverse financial needs of Indians irrespective of where they reside, what financial product they may need or which banking channel they may prefer – physical or digital,” the bank said in a statement. With an even mix of rural and urban markets, the bank has said that it will continue to expand its presence beyond its traditional regions of east and northeast.
