Bulgari fêtes its iconic Serpenti with Refik Anadol collaboration and mind-bending Saatchi Gallery exhibition

Since then, the sought-after piece has become one of the house’s most recognisable symbols, its flexible coils just as easily transformed to drape around the neck as well as slither its way up the arms. From fine jewellery to high jewellery, Bulgari’s famous muse has continued to evolve over the years with the symbolic reptile worn as a power piece on and off the red carpet, in countless variations. The fashion editor Diana Vreeland once commissioned a white and pink enamel version to wear as a belt.

Next year marks the emblem’s 75th anniversary. To kick off Bulgari’s celebrations, the brand has collaborated with the award-winning media artist Refik Anadol to create a digital installation that pays homage to the house’s favourite icon and its metamorphosis.

From 25 November to 23 December 2022, art world insiders will be flocking to London’s Saatchi Gallery where they will be in for a treat. Inside the exhibition, one will be transported into Anadol’s virtual world, where a unique AI artwork has been inspired by gazillions of images of nature – over 200 million to be precise – to produce an immersive data-driven, imaginary experience.
