The Ohio State basketball alumni team that has captured the attention of Buckeye fans over the last few summers is about to embark on its next run in The Basketball Tournament. The roster is still being assembled, but we’ve so far received enough news about the players participating to know that much of the nucleus we’ve been accustomed to will still be in place.
If you were a part of all the fun from 2019, you’ll remember that Carmen’s Crew and its cast of former OSU players mainly from the Thad Matta era went all the way to the championship. There, it knocked off Marquette’s alumni squad for the winner-take-all $2 million purse.
And while last year’s team bowed out extremely early trying to defend its title, the team is expected to launch from Columbus and be one of the top teams once again.
In fact, TBT power ranked the teams in the field this year and has Carmen’s Crew at No. 2, just behind 2020 runner-up Sideline Cancer as the favorite.

To take home the prize again in 2021, the team will have to fit some of the new pieces in place and stay healthy, but we’re ready to take it all in. Hopefully, you are too.
