Contractors Fined ₹17k for Poor Infrastructure of Bhopal Railway Station, ET Infra

Bhopal: Divisional commercial manager, Pankaj Kumar Dubey inspected the Bhopal railway station complex and imposed a penalty of Rs 17,000 on different contractors for irregularities.

During the inspection of catering stalls, a penalty of Rs 10,000 was imposed on the contractor for the irregularities found in the stalls on platform number two and platform number one.

Dubey also gave instructions to clean the waterlogging and sewage system on the track. A penalty of Rs 5,000 was imposed on the cleaning contractor for the deficiencies found in the cleaning system.

Contractor operating the pay and use toilet in the general waiting room on platform number six was removed as deficiencies were found in the washroom. A fine of Rs 2000 was also imposed on the contractor.

During ticket checking on the platform, two passengers were caught without tickets, from whom fare, and the penalty amount was recovered. A fine was also imposed on the unauthorized luggage.

The government and private funds of the employees working in the booking office were checked and the employees were instructed to work with more caution.

During the inspection of the cleaning system of Bhopal station, the need to pay special attention to micro cleanliness was emphasized to the local management along with the contractor representative.
