The global vaccine-production capacity is grossly inadequate to meet the overall immunisation requirements. The US, the UK, and the EU are spending billions on securing Covid-19 vaccines, which will squeeze supply further. India is yet to reveal its procurement and distribution plan. Given the sheer scale of vaccines and funding required for its population, India must stay prepared.
