The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday announced that the upcoming Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET-UG) will be conducted in hybrid mode. Some exam centres will administer computer-based tests (CBT), while others will utilise traditional pen-and-paper tests.

“For the Academic Session 2024-25, CUET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in the hybrid mode. The decision to conduct the exam as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or in pen-and-paper mode will lie with NTA which will decide considering multiple factors,” a senior NTA official said.

As per NTA, the CUET-UG exam will take place between May 15th and 31st, 2024, with the results expected to be released on June 30th, 2024.

Applications for the CUET-UG 2024 exam are now open and will be accepted until March 26th. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages across 380 cities in India, including 26 cities abroad.

The exam will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The candidates will be allowed to choose a maximum of six subjects unlike previous editions when they could appear in up to 10 subjects.”The examination will be conducted on multiple days in two or three shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject choices,” the official said.”The NTA is working on the possibility of conducting papers with a large registration in the OMR mode. This will help us choose a large number of schools as test centres. This will ensure that the students will get a centre within their town or city and do not have to travel to faraway places,” University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar told PTI.
