Domino’s launches new campaign aimed at GenZ; appoints new CFO


India’s largest food services brand Domino’s Pizza, operated by Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL), announced the launch of a new campaign on Tuesday, with the theme ‘it happens only with pizza’, which, the company said, was aimed at younger consumers and millennials.

Sameer Khetarpal, managing director of Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL), said: “We intend to target consumers’ mindshare to grow share of pizza occasions. Out of 1000 meal occasions in a year, pizza is consumed only thrice.”

He said the campaign was aimed at Domino’s gaining share of occasions in a $51 billion foodservice market, where pizza is just $1 billion. The new campaign is being rolled out in stores and will be integrated in delivery boxes as well.

JFL also announced the appointment of Suman Hegde as its executive vice president and chief financial officer on Tuesday. Hedge will be moving from Hindustan Unilever in her role as vice president of finance – beauty, wellbeing and personal care, South Asia. Hedge’s appointment is effective from March 1, 2024

JFL, which also has franchise rights of Dunkin Donuts and Popeyes in India, reported a 26% drop in net profit to Rs 97.20 crore in the September quarter though revenue grew 5% to Rs 1,368.63 crore.

For the quarter ended September 2023, Domino’s reported global retail sales of over $4.2 billion, split evenly between the US and rest of the world markets. The pizza chain said that India and China will headline international store growth in 2024, with the India store count set to rise to 3,000 stores by 2029, from over 1,900 currently.
