No One Is For Sale: No One Is For Sale is a 3K/5K Walk/Run Fundraiser & Awareness Event (in person or virtual) hosted by the non-profit organization Rescue Us Mission. Funds are used to help women rescued from human sex & labor trafficking with housing, food, medical needs, job training, and more. The event is scheduled for 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 10 at Sugar Land Memorial Park, 15300 University Blvd., Sugar Land, TX 77479. There will be music, education, breakfast treats and more. Mid-Autumn Festival: Join in the Mid-Autumn Festival at Children’s Museum Houston, 1500 Binz St. in Houston. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10. Revel in the majesty of the moon and the joys of the harvest as we celebrate the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival. Featuring lion dancers, traditional costume contest and lantern-making, the event will spotlight Vietnamese American writer Thanhhà Lại, who will read from her picture book “Hundred Years of Happiness” — a story about the love between grandparents and grandkids and the challenges of memory loss. Patriot Day observed: Patriot Day is a national day of remembrance for those who died on Sept. 11, 2001. Most government offices will be closed. Law enforcement and emergency services will be on call as usual.

Fiestas Patrias: Fiestas Patrias is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17, at Children’s Museum Houston, 1500 Binz St. in Houston. On Sept. 15, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo climbed atop a church and encouraged people to fight for Mexico’s independence. This “cry” for liberty marks the anniversary of Mexico’s “Grito de Dolores” and it’s celebrated with music, fireworks, and parades. Walk to End Alzheimer’s: The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is scheduled for 7:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 24, at LaCenterra, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy. The event is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association of Houston. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Biergarten: From beer aficionados to casual drinkers, all can enjoy City Centre’s first Biergarten at City Centre Plaza at 800 Town & Country Blvd. The event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2. The Biergarten is scheduled to be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. both days. There will be specialty Oktoberfest drinks with an American twist — football. Grab a beer, take a seat, and watch college and professional football games all day long. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be offered. No outside food or drink is allowed. Rockin’ The Park: Bellaire’s night to party like a rockstar is scheduled for 6:30-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Evelyn’s Park at 4400 Bellaire Blvd. There will be dinner, drinks, dancing and an auction. Pumpkin Patch: The Nature Discovery Center Pumpkin Patch is scheduled to be open all day Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7112 Newcastle Drive in Bellaire. They will have pumpkins, fun festival games, crafts and activities, foods, family photo ops, meet the animals, and more. Outside exhibitors and vendors will also be on hand with everything from live animals and biofacts to examine to decorated pumpkin centerpieces, lemonade, and goat milk ice pops for sale. The Great Pumpkin Hunt: The Great Pumpkin Hunt is scheduled for 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Bellaire Town Square Great Lawn at 7008 South Rice Ave. The festivities will kick off at 4 p.m. The hunt will start promptly at 4:30 p.m. and is open to all boys and girls ages 10 and under. Texas Coastal Prairie Conference: Preserving lands and legacies: The Texas Coastal Prairie Initiative, made up of 25 conservation organizations, will bring landowners and conservation partners together to discuss the preservation of wide-open spaces in Texas. The conference will include a full day of workshops and presentations from 9 a.m-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, followed by field trips to remnant and restored prairies as well as working ranches and farms from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. The conference takes place at University of Houston-Clear Lake Bayou Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, TX 77058. The cost is $85 or $45 for students.
