District Administration Ramban organized a mega workshop-cum-discussion session as a part of “Good Governance Week-2022’ to discuss the formulation of a Vision Document-2047.Former Deputy Commissioner (Retd), Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, and Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam presided over the function.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Gias-Ul-Haq; ACD, Ashok Singh; CPO, Dr.Kasturi Lal; DSEO, Ganesh Kumar; AD Employment Shushant Mahajan and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
Showkat Aijaz highlighted the priority sectors to be incorporated in the Vision Document-2047 which would help to develop the district in all aspects. He also discussed potential sectors of the district including the Service Sector, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, Tourism, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, and development of infrastructure.
Showkat Aijaz suggested that the Administration shall work on attracting Private Educational organizations to start their professional as well as academic institutions in the district which will go a long way in improving the educational scenario of the district.
Suggesting the promotion of cash crop cultivation in the district, Mr. Bhat said that Agriculture and the allied sector will play a major role in the generation of job opportunities and boost the economic activities in the district.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner presented a Power Point Presentation and briefed the meeting about achievements recorded in the district under various sectors.
He also informed about the status of major projects and implementation of flagship schemes launched by the Government to ameliorate the socio-economic conditions of the people of the district.The DC informed the officers that the aim of Vision Document-2047 is to visualize and conceptualize the priority sectors for the overall development of the district by 2047.
He advised them to keep in view objective of ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’ under Good Governance Week 2022, the focus is on Social Development, Rural Infrastructure, Environmental concerns, Growing Population & Urbanization, Power, Water Supply Agriculture & Allied activities and Industries, Employment & Changes in Occupational Structure, Technological issues, Balanced Regional Development, Employment, Planning, Research & Development to make Ramban district a fully developed and economically vibrant district by 2047 when people of the country shall celebrate the century of India’s independence.
It was unanimously decided to focus on the service sector, promotion of tourism and culture to achieve the goal with emphasis on the development of tourist infrastructure for the socio-economic upliftment of the district.Later, they also distributed vehicles among beneficiaries of the MUMKIN scheme.
