Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's 'Atmanirbhar formation' will have 15 helicopters

BENGALURU: Defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will for the first time display the scale model of Hindustan Lead in Fighter Trainer (HLFT)-42 at Aero India 2023.

“HLFT-42 is the ‘next-gen supersonic trainer’ that will play a critical role in modern combat aircraft training with state-of-the-art avionics like active electronically scanned array, electronic warfare suite, infrared search and track with fly-by-wire control system. HAL will showcase its range of products/technologies centred on the theme, ‘Innovate. Collaborate. Lead’,” the PSU said in a statement on Friday.

Aside from this, HAL will display a unique ‘Atmanirbhar formation’ flight of 15 helicopters comprising variants of advanced light helicopter (ALH), ‘Prachand’ light combat helicopter (LCH), and light utility helicopter (LUH), while the fixed wing front will witness the LCA twin-seater variant, Hawk-i, Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) and the Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT)-40 aircraft.

At the indoor pavilion, the PSU’s major attraction will be the scale model of Indian Multi Role Helicopter (IMRH), HLFT-42 and models of LCA Mk 2, Hindustan Turbo-shaft Engine-1200, rotary unmanned aerial vehicle (RUAV), LCA Trainer, Hindustan-228, etc.

US to attend with largest team, says official

US Embassy Charge d’Affaires ambassador Elizabeth Jones will lead the largest US delegation to the aero show, a statement issued on Friday read. “It’ll be an honour to lead the largest-ever US delegation to Aero India to showcase world-class equipment, training, capability and interoperability the US industry and military offer,” said Jones.

According to the statement, there will be an impressive array of US military platforms and personnel, and significant representation from the industry. “In the spirit of bilateral support for India’s largest aviation exhibition, the US Air Force Band of the Pacific’s seven-member music ensemble, ‘Final Approach’, will perform at Aero India on February 16 and at several venues in Bengaluru through the week,” it read.
