GURGAON: From road widening to work on a sewerage treatment plant, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a total of 43 projects worth Rs 191 crore in the city. The inauguration was part of a state-wide launch of projects before the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
The CM listed out the welfare schemes of the state and central governments and sought support from people.
Khattar inaugurated projects through video conferencing, while Gurgaon MP and Union minister Rao Inderjeet Singh along with local MLA Satyaprakash Jarawata were present at HSIIDC auditorium in Manesar for the event.
Several small projects were inaugurated together to turn it into a mega event.
Noting that the state had witnessed massive development without any differentiation among groups and regions in the past nine years, Gurgaon MP and Union minister Rao Inderjeet Singh said, “During this perio, major infrastructure projects were carried out and road network was revamped and increased to enhance the connectivity.”
During the programme, foundation stones were laid for a total of 29 projects worth around Rs 160 crore, while 14 projects worth approximately Rs 31 crore were inaugurated after completion of the projects. The construction of road from Panchgaon to Farrukhnagar at a cost of Rs 55 crore, widening of road from Farrukhnagar to Haileymandi at a cost of Rs 13 crore, were two of the projects for which the CM laid the foundation stones on Wednesday.
Other projects included development projects in Manesar worth Rs 92 crore such as constructions of sewerage network, internal road, sewerage treatment plant, water supply line in Manesar village, several internal and external roads of villages.
The inaugurated projects include the new Government School building in Naurangpur, and water distribution line in villages under Manesar Municipal Corporation — Nainwal, Fazalwas, Nawada Fatehpur and Rampura. Sewerage network in Kukrola, public toilets at different places in Manesar Municipal Corporation area were also among the projects inaugurated during the programme.
A total of 153 development projects worth over Rs 2,100 crore — spanning education, health, roads, electricity and water management — were also unveiled from Hisar.
Through the virtual medium, the chief minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for the major projects, while the remaining projects in other districts were covered by central ministers, state cabinet ministers, MPs, and MLAs.
Major projects include construction of the new building of International Convention Centre in Faridabad costing approximately Rs 333 crore, widening and strengthening of Road Budhlada from Punjab border to Ratia-Fatehabad-Bhattu-Bhadra upto Rajasthan border costing around Rs 185 crore, among others.
