NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday handed over the G 20 Presidency to Brazilian President Lula da Silva, while stating that there will be another session of the grouping before November 30th, till the time India has its Presidency.

The next session of the Summit, before November 30th, will be a virtual session to review the progress on the matters decided in this Summit.

“As you all know, India has the responsibility of G 20 Presidency till November 30th and two-and-a-half months are left. We have received various proposals from all of you present here in the last two days and it is our responsibility to review the proposals. I propose a virtual G 20 session in the last week of November to take stock of things discussed here,” PM Modi said.

Meanwhile, Brazilian President Lula da Silva while receiving the gavel of G 20 Presidency from the Indian PM said, “We are living in a world where wealth is more concentrated in which millions of human beings still go hungry, where sustainable development is always threatened…we will only be able to face all these problems if we address the issue of inequality – inequality of income, of access of healthcare, education, food, gender and race and also of representation is at the origin of these anomalies.”
