Positive global cues triggered a sharp rally in domestic equity markets on Tuesday. The Nifty50 index climbed over 100 points higher to reclaim the 18,000-mark, after a hiatus of five months, whereas the S&P BSE Sensex gained over 300 points to trade at 60,432 levels.
Sector-wise, marginal gains were seen in Nifty Bank and Nifty Metal indices. Profit-booking, meanwhile, was seen in Nifty IT and Nifty Media indices
Among individual stocks, shares of Gujarat Apollo Industries hit 20 per cent upper circuit after the company inked pact with Belgium-based PFH BV for agricultural components.
Besides, shares of Bajaj Finserv rallied 6 per cent after the stock traded ex-date for 1:5 stock split and 1:1 bonus share. READ MORE
