PM Modi greets engineers on Engineers Day 2022

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Engineers Day 2022 has stated that the government is working towards enhancing the infrastructure of engineering studies in the country. Along with this, the government will also be working towards building engineering colleges in India.
PM Modi took to his social media to greet engineers on the occasion of Engineers Day. He went on to state that the “nation is blessed to have a skilled and talented pool of engineers”.

Engineers Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Sir M Visvesvaraya who is regarded as India’s first civil engineer.

“On #EngineersDay, we remember the pathbreaking contribution of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. May he keep inspiring generations of future engineers to distinguish themselves,” stated PM Modi

The Prime Minister went on to share a snippet of his Mann Ki Baat where he spoke on the topic of Engineers Day and called India the land of innovative Engineering.

In the snippet, the Prime Minister recalled the three marvels of engineering and architecture, namely, Kailashnath Temple in Maharashtra, Brihadisvara Temple in Tamil Nadu and Rani ki Vav in Gujarat.

PM Modi also shared his experience as a volunteer after the 2001 Gujarat Earthquake where he came across a house which remained untouched by the Kutch earthquake. As per the residents of the house, the structure of the house was built by engineers keeping in mind the local conditions of the land as a result, the house survived 3 such devastating earthquakes.

He paid tribute to Sir M Visvesvaraya and asked engineers today to keep him in mind as an important role model as his innovation created the Krishna Raja Sagar Dam in Cauvery. He further encouraged engineers to think of the future of the country.
