PM Modi to flag off Vande Bharat Express train today

BHOPAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhopal on Saturday. At around 10 am, PM Modi will attend the Combined Commanders’ Conference-2023 at the Kushabhau Thakre Hall in Bhopal.

Thereafter, at around 3:15 pm, the Prime Minister will flag off the Vande Bharat Express train between Bhopal and New Delhi at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, Bhopal.

The three-day conference of Military Commanders is held from Thursday to Saturday on the theme ‘Ready, Resurgent, Relevant’. During the Conference, deliberations will be held over a varied spectrum of issues pertaining to national security, including jointness and theaterisation in the Armed Forces. Preparation of the Armed Forces and progress in defence ecosystem towards attaining ‘Aatmanirbharta’ will also be reviewed.

The conference will witness participation of commanders from three armed forces and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence. Inclusive and informal interaction will also be held with soldiers, sailors and airmen from Army, Navy and Air Force who will contribute to the deliberations.

Defence minister Rajnath Singh has already arrived in Bhopal to take part in the conference. Heads of the three armed forces, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) are also participating in the conference.

Preparations in the state capital, Bhopal were carried out on war footing for the PM’s visit. Ministers have been designated as “ministers-in-waiting” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival and departure in Bhopal. Home Minister Narottam Mishra has been sent to Bhopal Airport, Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has been given helipad Lal Parade Ground and Helipad Barkatullah University and Medical Education Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang has been named “Minister-in-Waiting” for Rani Kamlapati Railway Station.

The district administration focused on the beatification and security for the PM visit. The armed forces carried out different programmes on the sidelines of the conference. A combined team of officers from armed forces organised a three days extensive youth outreach programme at various schools, colleges and universities at Bhopal from March 28 to Thursday.

The state capital is also hosting a Fauji Mela from March 29 to April 2 to promote awareness about the Indian Armed Forces and its might to the citizens of India. The Mela is demonstrating the might of the three services of the Indian Armed Forces to the citizens of our nation and our continuous resolve towards defending this great nation from all forms of threat.
