Amid increasing demand for electricity during summers, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said that the state government is trying its best to overcome the shortage of power supply.

He stated that talks have been held with the companies providing electricity and a meeting in this regard would soon be held.

Khattar was addressing the media after presiding over the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held in Gurugram.

These days, the power crisis is deepening across the state. In April so far, the power demand has already reached its peak.

The power companies have refused to provide electricity at a low rate in the midst of increasing demand. However, in the ongoing talks, the state government has asked the companies to provide electricity at the rates fixed during the agreement.
