According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade officials, the fire was confined to the oil transformer and did not spread to other equipment, averting a major incident. However, the acrid smoke from the oil transformer engulfed the nearby residential areas and hung over there for quite a while causing difficulties for the locals. The area is surrounded by several residential buildings and shops.
