A massive police presence was in place near HMP Pentonville today, following reports of a prisoner on the roof of the building in Islington.
Just after 2pm on Thursday (April 1) police confirmed prison authorities are dealing with the prisoner on the roof of the Category B men’s prison in Barnsbury.
Police put cordons in place in the surrounding areas.
Reports on social media suggested there was a ‘massive’ police presence in the area, as well as a helicopter and other emergency services.
Wheelwright Street was blocked off, according to one witness.
