Railways cancels 17 trains ahead of cyclone Michaung, Infra News, ET Infra


PATNA: Railways has cancelled at least 17 long-distance mail and express trains either originating from or passing through the jurisdiction of East Central Railway (ECR) in view of cyclone Michaung likely to hit the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

According to ECR’s chief public relations officer Birendra Kumar, railways has cancelled Danapur-SMVB Bengaluru special (03251/03252) on December 3 from Danapur and December 5 from Bengaluru. Danapur-Bengaluru special (06509/06510) will remain cancelled on December 4 from Bengaluru side and December 6 from Danapur end.

Danapur-Bengaluru Sanghmitra Express (12295/12296) has been cancelled on December 3, 4 and 5 from Danapur side and December 5, 6 and 7 from Bengaluru end. Gaya-Chennai Express (12389/12390) was cancelled on December 3 from Gaya and will remain cancelled on December 5 from Chennai end.

Dhanbad-Alleppey Express (13351/13352), Muzaffarpur-SMVB Bengaluru Express (15227/15228) and Ernakulam-Patna Express (22643/22644) are among other trains that have been cancelled.

Another Ernakulum-Patna express (22669/22670) was cancelled at the last moment on December 2.
