‘railways To Conduct Survey For Addl Line On Kiul-ddu Route’, ET Infra

PATNA: Former Union minister and Patliputra MP Ram Kirpal Yadav held a high-level meeting with senior railway officials of Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) at the DRM’s office in Khagaul on Wednesday to work out proper planning and execution of the required infrastructural development in the division. The meeting aimed at a long term planning to cope up with increasing traffic operations in the division.

“The railways has sanctioned Rs 7.80 crore in the current 2023-24 fiscal to carry out a survey for building third and fourth line on the Kiul-Patna Junction-Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (DDU) mainline stretching 390 km,” he said, adding that necessary instructions have been given to the officials concerned to prepare detailed project report and complete final location survey on the route on priority.

According to Yadav, he took up the development issue of the division with Railway Board several times in the past and that it agreed to prepare a master plan for all- round infrastructure development of Patna Junction, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Danapur and Patliputra junctions, where the footfall of passengers is high.

Danapur DRM Jayant Kumar Choudhary told this newspaper on Wednesday that the railways will build new goods sheds at Sadisopur, Kurji Mohammadpur, Gaonbura and Jatdumri.

“However, railways will develop Sadisopur and Kurji Mohammadpur as a full-fledged stations of the division in the days to come,” the DRM said, adding that the railways has started a survey for building ‘rail over rail’ at Sadisopur linking it directly to Kurji Mohammadpur.

According to Danapur ADRM (operation) Aadhar Raj, railways has planned to build a third line in the Danapur yard to give uninterrupted passage to the passenger and goods train movements.

“In addition, railways will develop Danapur goods shed as passenger terminal with facilities like pit line, inspection line and stabling line from where Vande Bharat and Tejas rakes could be maintained smoothly in future,” Raj said.
