Twenty-seven years is a long time for any business to get a foothold. After its much-publicised India entry in 1997, Toyota did take the Indian passenger vehicle market by storm with the launch of Toyota Qualis in 2000 and Toyota Innova in 2005. But despite the impeccable quality its products offered, the Japanese carmaker could only garner a puny market share (5.64% in FY24 till December) in India and remained a distant sixth in the passenger
