SAI International School Chairman, Bijay Sahoo Passes Away Due Covid-19

Bhubaneswar, June 3: Advisor of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya and Chairman of SAI International School, Bijay Sahoo succumbed to Covid-19 today while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 58.

The 58-year old Chartered accountant was shifted to Hyderabad after he tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago.

As per the reports, Sahoo was under extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) treatment at KIMS Hyderabad for the past few days. He breathed his last around 1 pm this afternoon after developing severe complications. Arrangements are being made to bring his body to Bhubaneswar today.

Sahoo was the founding partner of SRB & Associates, the largest Chartered Accountant firm of the state, the founder-director of JSS Software Technology Park, the first private software park of Odisha, approved by the Government of India, the JSS Group, the IT, ITeS, and Infrastructure Company.

Along with that, he was also a Director of Allahabad Bank, Director of Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Board Member of Central Electricity Supply Utility (CESU), Chairperson Eastern Zone of FICCI Arise.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his grief over the sad demise of Sahoo on Twitter. “Deeply saddened to know about the passing away of noted educationist and entrepreneur, Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo. As Advisor of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, he had a pioneering role in transforming Govt School education. My condolences to his family, friends & students,” he tweeted.
