SWINDON Town will play Port Vale in the League Two play-off semi-finals after the final-day results were confirmed.
Town won 3-0 away at Walsall thanks to two goals from Jack Payne and an opener from Harry McKirdy – a scoreline which ultimately saw Ben Garner’s men end the season in sixth.
In one of the shocks of an incredible final day, Port Vale beat Exeter to not only secure fifth but also deny the Grecians the chance of lifting the title.
That honour went to Forest Green Rovers courtesy of their 2-2 draw against Mansfield Town.
The Stags finished the season in seventh and will play Northampton Town after the Cobblers beat Barrow 3-1 at Holker Street but also saw goalkeeper Liam Roberts sent off late on.
Bristol Rovers took the final automatic promotion spot as a result of their extraordinary 7-0 success at home to already-relegated Scunthorpe United.
