‘Technical reasons’, says IRCTC as ticketing services unavailable on site & app | Latest News India

IRCTC Server Down: Ticketing services on the IRCTC website and app were not available on Tuesday, with ‘technical reasons’ cited as the reason behind the unavailability.

“Due to technical reasons the ticketing service is not available. Our technical team is resolving the issue. We will notify as soon as the technical issue is fixed,” IRCTC said in a tweet.

In a follow-up post, it noted that the technical team of CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) was trying to resolve the outage.

“Technical team of CRIS is resolving the issue. Alternatively tickets can be booked through other B2C players like Amazon, Makemytrip etc.” the post read.

#IRCTC is, meanwhile, trending on social media. Also, the issue emerged around 10am, which is when booking under the Tatkal scheme opens for AC class, followed by that for non-AC class (11am).

“Plz resolve issue as soon as possible. I’m trying for booking ticket since it’s not working till. Amount deducted 5 times but ticket not booked single time,” wrote one user.

“Hope this gets resolved as soon as possible. What a coincidence that the website crashed or went under maintenance at dot 10 am when tatkal ticketing starts. Will I be able to book tatkal ticket for tomorrow, I wonder,” wrote another.

‘Due to maintenance activity…’

On trying to login too book ticket on the platform, the following message appears: “Due to maintenance activity e-ticketing service is not available. Please try later. For cancellation/file TDR please call at customer care no. 14646,0755-6610661 & 0755-4090600 or mail at etickets@irctc.co.in.’
