TRAC Oil & Gas changes name to TRAC Energy as it makes net zero push

Specialist rope access and inspection service company TRAC Oil and Gas has announced it has changed its name to TRAC Energy.

Effective from Tuesday, the decision is designed to reflect the north-east company’s efforts to support the energy transition and its journey to a net zero future.

Based in Dyce on the outskirts of Aberdeen, TRAC Energy already has strong ties to the low carbon energy industry.

It has worked in renewables for over a decade and has developed a net zero roadmap with clear environmental targets.

TRAC Energy recently bagged a deal for further work across 10 North Sea assets and in recent times it has taken steps to convert its transport fleet to electric.

Last year the company established a dedicated renewables division, appointing a renewable services manager to take the new branch forward.

A particular focus for TRAC Energy is offshore wind and the company has earmarked it as a growth market over the next decade.

TRAC Energy managing director Danny Hawthorn said: “It’s the right time to make this change in business name, it’s a subtle yet significant moment for the business as we place ourselves in the middle of a transitioning market.
